Kimberly A. Yaeger, R.N., B.S.N., M.Ed (c)

Kimberly Yaeger received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Boston College. Upon graduation, she began working in a burn intensive care unit at Massachusetts General Hospital. While there, she completed the Clinical Pastoral Education program for healthcare professionals in order to care for patients as a chaplain and as a critical care nurse. Upon moving to California, Ms. Yaeger transitioned from adult critical care to the neonatal intensive care unit. While there, she was exposed to a fledgling program in neonatal simulation-based training.

Ms. Yaeger currently works as the Director of Training and Research at the Center for Advanced Pediatric and Perinatal Education (CAPE) at Stanford University, a simulation-based training center devoted to neonatal, pediatric, and obstetric emergencies. In this position she is responsible for curriculum development, course conduction, and research investigating simulation-based training as a novel and valid methodology. In keeping with CAPE’s mission to disseminate this methodology, she has presented at numerous national and international conferences. Concurrently, she is completing her Master’s in Medical Education from the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
